Women in Construction
As Women in Construction Week comes to a close, and with International Women’s Day approaching on Sunday, we have been reflecting on the fantastic women across Niblock Building Contractors and Niblock Electrical Services.
We are proud to recognise and celebrate the talented women within our teams whose skills, dedication and hard work contribute to the successful delivery of our projects every day. Their commitment and expertise play an important role in strengthening our business and the wider construction industry.
Thank you to the women in our teams, and across the sector, for the valuable contribution you make.
From Apprentice to Qualified Electrician
Huge congratulations to Kai on successfully passing his NVQ Level 3 and AM2 qualification! This is a fantastic achievement and a true testament to the dedication, perseverance and hard work he has shown throughout his apprenticeship journey.
As an apprentice, Kai has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to developing his skills and expanding his knowledge. His determination to learn, improve, and take on new challenges has been clear at every stage of his training. We are proud of the progress he has made and all that he has accomplished.
Kai’s success is a brilliant example of how apprenticeships create opportunities for talent to grow and truly thrive. They provide a strong foundation for building skills, confidence, and long-term careers, while helping to develop the next generation of talented professionals within our industry.
National Apprenticeship Week
At Niblock Electrical Services, apprentices are powering our success
This National Apprenticeship Week, we are proud to showcase the vital role our apprentices play in our business. From supporting live projects on site to developing the technical and professional skills that keep our standards high, our apprentices are an essential part of the Niblock team.
By investing in apprenticeships, we are not just building future electricians – we are strengthening our workforce, improving productivity, and ensuring we continue to deliver high-quality electrical services for our clients.
At Niblock Electrical Services, apprenticeships don’t just build skills for life- they build skills for business success too.
Aico Platinum Partner
Niblock Electrical Services proudly took part in training yesterday at Aico’s manufacturing facility at Ei Electronics in Shannon, Ireland, as part of Aico’s Platinum Partner initiative, a prestigious recognition programme designed to elevate industry standards and reinforce excellence across its installer network.
We are delighted to confirm that Niblock Electrical has now achieved Platinum Partner status. This builds upon the Gold Standard Installer requirements and recognises organisations that demonstrate an exceptional commitment to ongoing professional development, rigorous safety compliance with fire and carbon monoxide alarms, and collaborative best practices.
Becoming a Platinum Partner reflects our continued investment in training, quality workmanship, and delivering the highest standards for our clients.
JTL Training Centre
Representing Niblock Electrical Services, Robert Sutherland recently attended the opening of the new JTL Training Centre in Orpington, marking an exciting milestone for a training provider that plays a vital role in supporting our apprentices.
The £1 million investment has transformed the site into a modern, industry-led training facility, with a strong focus on plumbing, heating and low-carbon technologies.
As many of our apprentices attend the Orpington Training Centre, it is great to see JTL continuing to invest in high-quality facilities that help develop the next generation of skilled professionals. Rob also had the opportunity to see first-hand how the new workshops are preparing learners for real-world working environments.
We are especially proud that one of our own apprentices, Ryan, who is featured in JTL’s photograph, was selected for the guided tour – a fantastic achievement and a real testament to his hard work and dedication.
Awaab’s Law
On Friday, our team attended Aico’s Awaab’s Law training to deepen our understanding of the strict timeframes social landlords must follow.
Under Awaab’s Law, landlords are required to:
• Investigate hazards and provide a written summary within 10 working days
• Begin necessary repairs within 5 working days of investigation (or 24 hours if an emergency)
• Arrange alternative accommodation if the property cannot be made safe within these times
• Keep comprehensive records of all compliance efforts
Partnering with housing associations and local authorities, we are committed to supporting these standards to keep residents safe and projects compliant.
Thanks to Rachel Wright and Aico for the insightful session!
Christmas Jumper Day
Spreading Festive Cheer for a Great Cause
The Niblock Electrical Services’ head office team was proud to put on their best (and brightest!) Christmas jumpers again this year in support of Save the Children UK.
Christmas Jumper Day is always a highlight – a chance to come together, have some fun, and raise money for an organisation doing vital work for children around the world.
A big thank you to everyone who took part and donated.
AICO Gold Standard Installer
AICO Gold Standard Installer!
We are proud to share that Niblock Electrical Services have officially been awarded the Gold Standard Installer certificate, presented to us by Rachel Wright from AICO. This recognition reflects our team’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of installation quality, safety and customer care.
Achieving Gold Standard status is an important milestone for us, and we are grateful to AICO for their continued support and partnership. We are also excited to announce that we will soon be completing the next stage of our professional development – the Platinum Partner course – to further strengthen our expertise and deliver even greater value to our clients.
Career Compass Event
We were pleased to attend the Career Compass Event at MidKent College today, where we have had the opportunity to engage with local residents and discuss the apprenticeships we offer. This event formed an important part of our commitment to delivering social value on behalf of Golding Homes, and we were proud to support the local community in exploring future employment opportunities.
