Career Compass Event
We were pleased to attend the Career Compass Event at MidKent College today, where we have had the opportunity to engage with local residents and discuss the apprenticeships we offer. This event formed an important part of our commitment to delivering social value on behalf of Golding Homes, and we were proud to support the local community in exploring future employment opportunities.
Service Milestones
We are pleased to recognise and congratulate three valued team members on reaching their 5-year work anniversaries:
John McIntyre, George McKenzie, and Andy Hugglestone
We are truly grateful for the dedication, passion and commitment each of you brings to our team.
SEC 2025 Attendance
Our team is excited to be exhibiting at the SEC conference on 15th October and looking forward to connecting with many of you in person.
With several active Higher-Risk Building projects currently progressing through the Gateway application process, we are especially interested in the workshops and discussions focused on this key aspect of the Building Safety Act.
This is a pivotal moment for the industry, and we are eager to share insights, learn from others navigating similar challenges, and explore the evolving compliance landscape together.
If you are attending, we would be delighted to welcome you at our stand.
AICO Gold Standard
We are proud to share that our engineers completed their Aico Gold Standard training this week – a step forward in our continued commitment to safety, quality and excellence.
The Aico Gold Standard is a mark of expertise in the installation of domestic smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. To achieve this accreditation, our team has successfully completed:
-Aico’s FIA-accredited Expert Installer Training
-Aico’s City & Guilds Training
This training ensures our engineers are fully equipped with the knowledge and skills to deliver high-quality, compliant smoke and carbon monoxide alarm installations, helping to protect homes and save lives.
Well done to the team for investing in best practices and raising the bar across our industry.
IWD 2025
We are celebrating the incredible women within the Niblock team for International Women’s Day 2025!
In an industry that is more widely dominated by men, we are exceptionally proud of the women in our team forging careers in construction and changing the landscape of the industry for generations to come.
Denim for Dementia
The Niblock head office team showed up in their denims today for our annual Denim for Dementia event to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society.
The donations will directly help the Charity with their research into the cause, cure and prevention of Dementia and fund vital support for the families and invididuals affected.
Women In Construction
At Niblock, we are passionate about diversifying the workforce and tackling the wider under representation of women in trades apprenticeships. As such, we have been working to attract more women into our apprenticeship program and break down the stereotype that apprenticeships are predominantly for men.
Women in Contruction Week, 2nd-8th March 2025, presents the ideal opportunity to highlight one of our fantastic apprentices, Maddie, who is currently undertaking an 4-year apprenticeship with Niblock Electrical. She was pleased to provide us with feedback on her apprenticeship to encourage more women to take up similar opportunities.
“I am currently a first-year apprentice at Niblock and have been working at the IMO and on multiple social housing and lighting projects. I have particularly enjoyed learning about upgrading fuse boards and I am looking forward to improving my skills on containment. In the future, I aim to achieve my NVQ Level 3 qualification.
Whilst being in a largely male-dominated industry, I have really enjoyed working with such a supportive team and hope that other women will join me in breaking the stereotype and apply for an electrical apprenticeship.” Maddie Pinn
London South Bank University Talk
Last week, we were pleased to return to London South Bank University with Baily Garner LLP to carry out another talk on our Passivhaus Retrofit project for the London Borough of Lambeth aligning with their ambitious ‘Climate Action Plan’, which aims for a net-zero carbon footprint by 2030.
Our lecture provided a detailed overview of the project at 24-26 Bloomhall Road, the programme and the innovative retrofit technologies utilised.
It was an excellent opportunity to highlight the collective expertise powering the project, with contributions from Benjamin N. from Baily Garner and Jodie Pitt and Paul Rayment from Niblock, and we were thrilled with the high level of engagement from those attending the lecture.
London South East Colleges
We were pleased to return to London South East Colleges today as part of National Apprenticeship Week 2025 and to provide Level 1 and 2 Electrical Students with more information on the apprenticeships available at Niblock Electrical Services. It was a fantastic opportunity to meet with prospective apprentices and to discuss opportunities within the electrical industry.
Thank you London South East Colleges for welcoming us back to meet with the next generation of skilled professionals!
