Christmas Jumper Day
It’s Christmas Jumper Day 2024 and our head office team has had a fantastic time getting into the Christmas spirit dressed in their festive knits to raise money for Save the Children for the 6th year in a row! The Charity organises the annual event to help give children in the UK and around the world the future they deserve.
Service Milestones
It was a pleasure to recognise the special service milestones celebrated by some of the NES team today.
Scott, Hannah, Robert and Matthew are all celebrating 5 years of service! Congratulations to you all and thank you for your dedication to the company, ensuring our continued success.
World Mental Health Day 2024
World Mental Health Day 2024
We are pleased to launch our new Mental Health & Wellbeing Focus today across Niblock Builders and Niblock Electrical Services to ensure we are providing a positive working environment for all employees, whilst raising awareness of mental health issues, tackling the stigma of poor mental health and improving positive mental wellbeing among our workforce and the wider construction industry.
As such, we have introduced Niblock Mental Health Ambassadors within the business, organised mental health awareness training for Management and through our renewed membership with Mates in Mind, have ensured all employees are aware of the support services available to them, including access to qualified counsellors.
We are adopting a joined-up approach with the Charity to ensure we are providing sufficient mental health support services for anyone already struggling, whilst actively working to promote a positive culture within the workplace where our team members feel able to talk openly and are provided with the skills and confidence to support anyone experiencing mental health issues.
SEC Conference 2024
Niblock will be exhibiting at the SEC Annual Conference on Wednesday 16th October. This year’s theme, ‘A Call for Action: Delivering Truly Brilliant Homes for the Communities We Serve,’ will address key challenges in the sector. The event will feature insightful talks on procurement reform, net zero, future home innovations and building safety.
With our growing involvement in Retrofit Projects, we are looking forward to attending sessions such as ‘Scaling up Retrofit’ and ‘Tackling Skills and Technology Gaps in Delivering Our Sustainability Goals,’ ensuring we stay at the forefront of the latest developments in this field.
If you are attending the conference, please do come and see our Team located at Stand 8.
Macmillan Coffee Morning
Macmillan Coffee Morning 2024!
For the 8th consecutive year, the Niblock team donned their aprons and dusted off their mixers to whip up their signature sweet and savoury bakes for our annual ‘Bake Off’ Competition and Coffee Morning to support Macmillan Cancer Support.
Congratulations to Gabrielle Wood and Amy Southby for being named this year’s Star Bakers with their delicious dishes; Tiramisu Brownies and Chorizo Sausage Rolls.
A huge thank you to our team for joining in with competitive spirit and helping to raise money for Macmillan, a charity that does fantastic work for all those affected by cancer.
ECA Dinner Dance
Niblock Electrical Services were delighted to attend the ECA Maidstone and East Kent Annual Dinner Dance on Saturday 21st September, aimed at raising money for Dementia UK and the Electrical Industries Charity, which supports those who serve or have previously served in the electrical industry and are facing times of hardship. The charity plays a vital role in the welfare of workers and their immediate families.
The event also coincided with World Alzheimer’s Day, which is a global opportunity to raise Dementia awareness, making it an especially fantastic opportunity to support Dementia UK. All monies raised were split equally between the two very important charities to help them continue with their crucial work.
Maddie Rose Day
Niblock are going yellow for Maddie Rose!
We are proud to once again support Maddie’s Day and turn our branding yellow to show our support for the Maddie Rose Campaign, which was set up in 2021 to celebrate the life and important work of Maddie Rose who was committed to showcasing the fantastic array of aspirational careers within the Construction industry for young people.
To help promote the initiative, we are adopting the Maddie Rose Campaign logo for the day and are proudly highlighting some of our own inspirational young team members from Niblock Builders and Niblock Electrical Services. By ‘going yellow’ we hope to keep Maddie Rose’s legacy alive and to further encourage other passionate young people to enter the industry!
LHC Summer Conference
We’re excited to exhibit today at the LHC Summer Conference ‘Safety First, Modernisation Next’ at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Docklands.
As proud appointees to the LHC Refurbishment and Modernisation framework, we look forward to connecting with other contractors and clients to discuss building fire safety measures, compliance, and modernisation solutions.
We are currently ranked 2nd in London, Surrey, West Sussex, Kent, and Essex on Lot 4 & 5 for Electrical Works, and we very much welcome discussions about our projects and future collaborations.
Employer Engagement Series
We recently attended London South East Colleges to provide the Level 2 Electrical Students with an overview of Niblock Electrical and the apprenticeships available as part of their Employer Engagement Series. We were delighted to receive the following feedback from LSEC and look forward to returning for another session in the next academic year!
“May I take this opportunity to express our profound gratitude to Jodie and John for taking time out of their business schedules to visit and deliver an inspiring session to our Electrical Students. The attendance was the best out of all the Employer Engagement Series we have had this year.
Niblock delivered an inspiring session, delving into the history of the company, the structure, partnership contracts with local authorities and housing associations that they are involved in. They also made time for question-and-answer sessions looking at the expectations of the company in relation to apprenticeship opportunities.
John and Jodie stressed the importance of preparing themselves for the journey ahead which could lead to an awesome career path.”
