Women In Construction
At Niblock, we are passionate about diversifying the workforce and tackling the wider under representation of women in trades apprenticeships. As such, we have been working to attract more women into our apprenticeship program and break down the stereotype that apprenticeships are predominantly for men.
Women in Contruction Week, 2nd-8th March 2025, presents the ideal opportunity to highlight one of our fantastic apprentices, Maddie, who is currently undertaking an 4-year apprenticeship with Niblock Electrical. She was pleased to provide us with feedback on her apprenticeship to encourage more women to take up similar opportunities.
“I am currently a first-year apprentice at Niblock and have been working at the IMO and on multiple social housing and lighting projects. I have particularly enjoyed learning about upgrading fuse boards and I am looking forward to improving my skills on containment. In the future, I aim to achieve my NVQ Level 3 qualification.
Whilst being in a largely male-dominated industry, I have really enjoyed working with such a supportive team and hope that other women will join me in breaking the stereotype and apply for an electrical apprenticeship.” Maddie Pinn
